The Fondazione Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (INT) is a comprehensive cancer center, defined as a facility where care and prevention are integrated with research and education, and whose activities range from epidemiology to rehabilitation and palliative care through prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The Unit of Medical Statistics and Biometry of INT (from 2017, Unit of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics) provides biostatistical support to the clinical and experimental research activity conducted at INT. Within this framework the Unit is involved in the development of new methodologies of study design and data analysis. Members of the Unit hold chief investigator and/or associate investigator status on various research projects.
